IIUM International Students with active status. The participant shall be at least 16 years old upon enrolment. The maximum age at entry shall be 65 years (age next birthday).
As hospital cost can be substantial and can wipe out your saving, the last thing you would want to worry about is money. Furthermore, this plan also provides 24 hours worldwide coverage for death and disability benefits due to natural or accidental causes.
As soon as you registered with IIUM with the premium insurance paid and University notify us in
writing and subject to our policy terms, conditions, and exclusion specified in the Policy Contract.
The contribution/premium is to be paid annually to IIUM upon registration
Sickness, disease or illness which you have been suffering from prior to the effective date of your cover.
The coverage period is on a yearly basis and will continue to cover as long as you are a registered IIUM student with active status and paid the takaful contribution. The coverage is subject to renewal arrangements made between IIUM and Etiqa Takaful.
- Outpatient GP and SP treatment except for emergency cases. For details of outpatient GP coverage, you may refer to the GP’s scope of benefits.
- Exclusion specified in the policy contract
- Treatment received overseas following more than 90 days of stay overseas

PM Care is the Third-Party Administrator appointed to manage the Group Hospital and Medical Plan for IIUM International Students

All Government Hospitals DO NOT accept insurance medical cards but do accept the Guarantee letter
issued by Etiqa Takaful. For inpatient treatment in any government Hospital, you need to call the
Etiqa Healthcare call Centre requesting for Guarantee Letter.
This medical plan DO NOT cover normal outpatient treatment except for emergency cases caused by
accident or sickness (subject to policy terms, conditions, and exclusions)
Please ensure the room rate per day is RM150.00 or below. If the rate for your hospital admission is higher than RM150.00, the patient shall bear the difference amount between the actual rate and of the eligible benefits amount.
Present your medical card at the Hospital admission Counter. If you have no card, just provide full
name and passport no and the hospital will verify with Etiqa Healthcare Call Centre.
For inpatient treatment in any Government Hospital, you need to request the Government Hospital GL Application Form from PM Care (03-80267799) or Etiqa Agency Office @ IIUM Gombak Campus (013-4475139) or download at www.myUIAtakafulplan.com. You need to get the doctor in charge to fill out the GL Form and email it to PMCare (gl@pmcare.com.my) for issuance of GL before your admission.
You just show your PMCare Apps or inform the hospital to liaise with PMCare for hospital GL admission purposes. Please present your passport at the Hospital admission Counter for verification purposes. If you have queries, please contact PMCare’s 24-hour care line.
